Newlands Forest is a shady, leafy network of trails set on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, offering short loops and longer connector routes through stands of ancient trees and alongside clear streams. The forest provides a refreshing escape from the city with many picnic spots and viewpoints.

Trails range from easy family walks to moderate uphill routes that connect to Rhodes Memorial and Kirstenbosch, making it ideal for dog walking, trail running and short hikes that show off waterfalls, wildflowers and panoramic city views.
