Oranjezicht City Farm Market

A vibrant community farmers’ market at the V&A Waterfront offering fresh organic produce, artisanal foods, crafts, and local products in a lively outdoor setting with ocean views.

Description

Established in 2013 and relocated to Granger Bay within the V&A Waterfront precinct in 2015, the Oranjezicht City Farm Market has become Cape Town’s largest market of its kind. Supporting over 40 local farmers and 80 artisanal food traders, it attracts between 6,000 to 9,000 visitors each weekend.

The market promotes local food systems and sustainable practices, including efforts to reduce food waste and plastic use. It provides critical infrastructure and business support, helping vendors reach restaurant and retail customers while fostering entrepreneurial growth. Recognized globally, it was named one of the top 20 farmers’ markets worldwide by The Independent (UK).
